Gourmet Temptations – About Us

SandeeGourmet Temptations Gift Baskets is owned and operated by Sandee Palmquist, of Redmond, Washington. She puts her personal touch on each and every basket she prepares so you are assured you will receive the perfect gift for your recipient.

Sandee was a special education teacher for the last 10 years. Prior to that she owned and operated Wild Blackberries Gift Baskets for 8 years before going back to school to earn her teaching certificate.

Once retirement beckoned, her husband said, “You aren’t just going to sit around this house!” Sandee knew just what to do to bring joy and creativity back into her life. Another gift basket company. Gourmet Temptations has now been bringing joy and creativity to both Sandee and her customers and friends since October of 2011.

Gourmet Temptations is a home based business so phone, website or email are the preferred methods of ordering. In office appointments are available for consultation in gift design.

What Makes Gourmet Temptations Unique?

Delicious food from local gourmet manufacturers is just the start. Compare our gift baskets to one of those pre-packaged gift baskets. Our products are food you really want to eat – in generous sizes – enough to share, if you want to.

In fact, we love our food so much, we encourage you to buy individual products that you have discovered from our online gourmet products store. You can also choose a simple food gift as opposed to a large basket if that is more appropriate. In addition, we sell at local craft shows to give customers a chance to try the foods and see all we have to offer. The show schedule is available on our Facebook Page.

Environmental Policy

  1. Living and working in the beautiful Pacific Northwest makes us acutely aware of the need to protect our environment. We use careful environmental practices in as many areas as possible.
  2. We reuse all of our shipping and packing materials.
  3. The baskets and containers are all reusable. We work to find containers that you will want to reuse again and again.
  4. Our manufacturers are small and regional which means the goods do not have to travel thousands of miles to get here.
  5. Many of our manufacturers grow their products on their farms as well as process them into gourmet products, thus reducing the environmental footprint further.
  6. We are home based, relying on phone and internet connections to sell our products, reducing electricity and paper costs.

Charitable Giving

Since we are a company dedicated to great food, we were naturally drawn to issues of hunger in our community. We regularly donate either food or gift baskets to local charities such as Sophia’s Way Women’s Shelter, Mary’s Place Women’s Day Shelter, Congregations for the Homeless Men’s Shelter. In addition, Sandee coordinates meals for these shelters (as well as others) for her church. She represents both the church and Gourmet Temptations on a local hunger issues organization called Nourishing Networks.
